decent workday
Work was pretty alright today. I dug more into some new audiobooks to mixed results. The first one I listened to, Murder by Memory, was a fantastic two hour novella with great character writing, interesting world building, and some nice queer characters as a cherry on top! The other two, which will not be named, were pretty poor, one with overly edgy writing that felt unpleasant to listen to (The more irl brand names you mention in your writing the less likely it seems I'll like it) and the last one I tried listening to started with the author telling you what certain parts of the story and characters represented, so I didn't even get to listen to the story without subtext being thrown out the window, felt like I walked into the movie theatre to someone yelling spoilers. Overall I think my enjoyment of the first book outweighed my distaste for the other two.
The only other issue today was an annoying altercation between two coworkers that really didn't seem like it belonged to be happening on the workfloor. It was annoying and distracting and uncomfortable and I wanted to say something but both of the people seemed equally in the wrong and I didn't wanna get in the middle of two hateful people.
All together a mixed workday, but hanging out with my sleepy partner and playing a bit of my new cube has helped, now just to take it easy and have a nice day off tomorrow!
