Magic was fun today

We've almost completely moved away from Winston Drafting the cube and now Minneapolis Draft! I think a big factor is the fact that Winston is 90 cards (6 packs of 15, in one pile), and Minneapolis is 112 cards (Each player gets 8 packs of 7). More cards means better decks and that's always nice, and despite the fact that we have to make the 7 card packs every time, Minneapolis draft still might be faster?

We both won 1 game each tonight, on some pretty neat decks! I first picked Kess, Dissident Mage and I started forcing Grixis Spells pretty early.

I got some good rituals and things to help me storm off like Storm-Kiln Artist and Stormcatch Mentor.

The tragedy of the deck is, despite looking at around 1/3rd of the cube, we didn't have a single Storm card in the draft pool! So after getting a lot of good pieces my only payoffs were really that Storm-Kiln Artist getting larger with all the treasure it produces, and a Kiln Fiend. If I didn't have cards like Inti, I wouldn't even be able to break through cause my two good attackers didn't have any evasion!

My partner was on a neat kinda Bant Midrange deck, with a good chunk of removal and some graveyard synergies! She took the first game after wiping the board with Day of Judgement while both my win-cons were out, so I could only put up a measly defence while she overwhelmed me!

It was fun, I'm really enjoying the cube and I'm excited to make a few more small changes to it!
