Making a big long post with all my thoughts while I watch the preview panel from MagicCon!
Edge of Eternities
Edge of Eternities is already looking to be super interesting, and the art I've seen, and the art from the Planeswalker's Guide (Which you should read cause it's super cool!) looks fantastic!
The Land Bonus Sheet is neat, I don't think I care for the font for the name of the card, but I looove bonus sheets, such a good way to get playable good cards!
The fact that this set is going to have a huge 11 Main Story episodes, and an additional 5 Side Stories, is awesome! Please give me more story and lore for these deep settings, I can't get enough! Especially when the main(?) character is Non-Binary like meeeeeeeeee!
Sami and their ship look fun and I'm happy they actually play well in conjunction with their ship, and honestly I think the Station and Spacecraft cards look neat!
Them making Legendary Vehicles and Spacecraft eligible to be your commander is fine by me, less restriction is more fun for casual formats, at least in my opinion.
Tezzeret seems strong and neat, I'm just happy he's colorless but very one lane, so he won't show up everywhere.
Sothera Seems fun and neat, seems fun for some kind of a aristocrats, creature sacrifice deck!
Lorwyn Eclipsed
We have basically no info on the set yet, but the art they shared is beautiful! I am legitimately terrified they'll bring back some variation of the awful Day/Night mechanic that everyone hated, trying to 'fix' it.
Still sad this set got pushed back for the stupid advertisement sets, but at least I can kind of ignore those while I wait for more cool in universe sets!
The fact that we got zero info on the return to Strixhaven makes me a little sad. We didn't even get any artwork. I'll be patient, but I really hope the set is fun, and cool, and explores the interesting aspects of Arcavios, like the Vastlands and Archaics!
Magic Comics: Untold Stories: Elspeth
Honestly, anything that dives more into Magic's story makes me happy, and comics covering the lost story of Theros: Beyond Death, is awesome! I'm def going to try and get these, and I hope we get more cool stories! Give us Slowbad's story, or comics of the Weatherlight story!
New Draft Format: Four-Player Pick-Two Draft
I don't have much opinion on this. I'm a big fan of draft so anything that makes it easy to get people into draft is great. I'm going to keep playing Winston draft though, cause that's fun and can go from 2-4 players. Maybe I'll try this format if I want to try something faster, but Winston will always be my go to.
Overall it was a neat panel. I didn't go over the one Airbender card cause I don't really care about the advertisement sets.
Highly recommend the Edge of Eternities Planeswalkers guide, and I'm gonna listen to the first episode this Monday at work!
