The Tarkir side stories are really good!
I went out of my way to read the Tarkir side stories last night, one for each clan, and I enjoyed them! There isn't an audio reading for them like the main story so I just got comfy with some quiet music and read through the five of them!
I definitely liked the Jeskai and the Temur stories the best, and the Sultai and Abzan ones aren't far behind! I definitely didn't enjoy the Mardu one as much, it was good, but felt a but basic to me after the strong start it had.
Obviously not trying to spoil anything, though one thing I found odd, is that the card that references the Abzan story has contradictory flavor text?
I guess it could technically be true but it's written like Mehtma is the betrayer in the story? The card that references the Sultai story isn't shown in the story either, but it at least feels like it makes sense.
Regardless, the stories are good, and honestly I'm thinking about diving into some more stories today after I get some good food in me! Might start with the iconic Mardu story The Truth of Names! Then I might dive into the Strixhaven story, cause despite being my favorite set, I haven't actually read it!
