unwanted day off
Got to bed a bit early last night, since I was bored and a bit sad. Tried getting to sleep but my brain did the thing where I think about magic the gathering for .01 seconds and it spirals until I pull my phone off my bedside table and start looking things up.
Was thinking about the unvisited plane of Xerex and thought of a neat mechanic that would fit the non-euclidean plane. But that can be saved for another post, especially as I surprisingly have time today.
I got up this morning, tired and uncomfortable, with the very common thought in my head of "I don't wanna go to work today". Well I guess I forgot to check for a monkey's paw hidden in my house because I went to drive to work and my tire was flat. So it's cold, snowing, my tire is completely flat, and I'm not unable to get to work. I call 3 different auto shops and 2 don't answer, my usual shop can't get anyone in until thursday, and even calling my manager ends with me leaving a voicemail. Eventually we find a place nearby that can get me in, so I air up my tire as much as I can, limp it there, and they can get all 4 tires done (I've needed them done anyway so might as well) for over 700 dollars. So now I get to double the balance on my credit card and miss work today.
Thankfully my manager finally got in touch with me, said it's fine, and I can maybe make it up friday if I feel like it. Will I? I dunno, money is nice but I hate working more than anything. All together everything is fine, but it's an awful way to start the day and the week. Hoping I get my car back and it's fine, but who knows. Guess I'll try and enjoy today, though it's cold and gross out like yesterday so I don't think it'll be that great. Doing my best, but I'm tired.
