weird day
Today was a little weird, but it was fine.
My partner's work had something weird happen so they got most of the day off with me which was wonderful!. What was weird was going out together and just having annoying bad luck. Went to that restaurant I've been enjoying, but the food I got was super expensive for an unbelievably tiny portion, and the waiter took ten trillion years to give us the check so we were just sitting in the heat wanting to leave. Then we went and got coffee and my coffee was awful which was annoying, my partner and I got the same thing and theirs was fine but mine tasted like they accidentally dumped a whole bottle of the syrup in it. Then we thought we'd end the outing with a walk at our favorite little spot, but with all the storms and tornadoes lately all the trees were destroyed and it was super sad.
After all that we came home and relaxed, which was nice. I've mostly been vibing on the couch, hitting some buttons in some fighting games and watching jerma videos. A neat little game jam game called Vital Charge that honestly seems like it could be a full game despite it's small scope. The characters are fun, the game is simple but has some neat depth, and the charge gauge is a neat take on meter. I personally like Coagula, a silly vampire slime with big buttons and strong specials, but all their specials cost health, that you can get back with a grab.
Also unrelated to most of this, I'm watching jerma's 'ultimate game list' and it makes me want to buy a wii so bad. I'd play the fuck out of some Mario Strikers Charged right now, that game is so nostalgic for me.
Time to get some rest, get tomorrow over with, and hopefully have a good weekend despite the stormy forecast. Hopefully it'll be clear enough for me to hold a cube draft at the card shop.
