wonderful busy day
Ooof I am exhausteddddd. Today was soooo busy but it was very nice. Got up early with my partner to go to a movie (Digital Circus, was good). We showed up what we thought was on time, but turns out our tickets were for 40 minutes later. So we went to a nearby coffee shop that seemed neat but they were quite slow, and didn't really impress us, not terrible but not gonna stop there again probably, their breakfast tacos were dry with no sauce!
Then we enjoyed the movie, and we had a few hours to kill until a pride event! We ended up stopping to get myself a burger then across the street to best buy to look at electronics. Still need a teeny little screw for a little stick of storage for my computer that's been sitting around for a long time, I should order it online but I'm lazyyyyy. Did end up walking out of the store with a new headset cause my old one I've been using had the cushion on the top fall off so it's kinda been hurting my head.
Then we made our way to pride, and were very impressed with the local infrastructure. Very wide sidewalks and bike lanes with lots of very nice benches all over the place, lots of greenery, it was honestly quite impressive and I wanna see it in more places! Waited in line to get into pride cause they were checking bags and such. I'm me so I had a bar cube with me and the security person I that I showed it too played magic which was funny, we had a teeny chat and it was satisfying xD. Pride itself was fine, but had the same issue I have with every pride event, where it's mostly just vendors and food trucks, so once you walk around and look at everything and buy what you wanna buy, there isn't much to do.
From there we went for a walk by the river which was also quite nice, it was the area where my partner and I had our first kiss. Despite being very tired and hot we had a very wonderful walk. We got some ice cream at a place we hadn't been to in 10 years. We didn't even realize that it had been so long since we'd been down there, it's just never come up!
From there we ran to a nice big grocery store for groceries and the nicest grocery store sushi I think I've ever had! And then, something I was quite excited about, I found out there's a card shop on my way too and from work! I somehow hadn't known they were there despite them being in view of a stop light I always have to stop at! Apparently They opened in february, but the windstorm around then broke their sign, and they only recently got it fixed! It's still very new, and fairly small, and closes fairly early, but they're talking about being able to be open longer in the future and honestly just having access to another store in a super convenient location is amazing! I bought myself a couple cheap Flesh and Blood precons just so I could give them my business.
After all that, we're finally home, the groceries and all our purchased goodies from the day are put away, and I'm even wearing my new headset as I write this (absolute gayming)! It was a very full day, and spending it with my partner was wonderful and made it infinitely better. Honestly making sure they had enough food and water gave me some direction, and made me feel less lost than I was at pride last year. I'm sure we'll both sleep like logs tonight, and I think they're already knocked out next to me.
What a wonderful day <3
